Our goal: to bring readers and writers together.
In the 19th and 20th Century, ‘serials’ were the most widely distributed form of popular media in the United Kingdom. All over the country, printing presses were alight with the latest weekly editions of short story collections, ready to be enjoyed in literary magazines and pamphlets by millions of readers.
In the modern era, reading can often fall to the bottom of the pile — almost 80% of Americans wish they read more, but don’t have time.
We think that the comeback of the short story is well overdue.
Sanctuary was founded by English Literature students at some of the world’s top universities, and aims to bring great stories to readers across the world.
